Restoring forest ecosystems, strengthening communities.

Wildfire and drought pose significant threats to forests.

It’s a wicked problem that requires collaboration.

Our mission is to unite diverse voices to conserve Mount Hood’s forests and restore ecological resilience, fostering long-term sustainability in the Hood River Valley.

Climate change is increasing risks associated with wildfire and drought.

A century of fire exclusion and past forest management practices have led to unhealthy forest ecosystems. Restoring forest health and ecological resilience is critical to preparing our forests and communities for a hotter, drier future.

Our forests provide us with so much, let’s take care of them.

Forests filter water, sequester carbon, provide habitat for threatened and endangered species, and facilitate spiritual renewal and abundant recreational opportunities. Healthy and resilient forest ecosystems are critical to ensuring the social, environmental, and economic well-being of our community.

“The Hood River Forest Collaborative is a strong partner, and critical to the success of the work we do on the Mt. Hood National Forest. By building trust and fostering innovative thinking, the collaborative helps develop durable solutions that support both healthy forests and healthy communities.”
